Some of my images remain as they are photographed. Others are manipulated into different sizes and shapes, cut, glued and applied as individual prints en masse, into a maze of soft hybrid forms borrowing from tapestries, maps and flags or banners. Zipper, Tunnel Walkers and Dirty Windows and Poems are representative of that work.
Each piece could be described as a visual anthology with an anatomy that transitions
from singular images into layers of strata uneven with textured topographical-like
surfaces. Some appear to be mimicking fabrics as well as map-like forms, while
others suggest a mirrored configuration. The repeated imagery often appears to
be obscure until the viewer alters her or his field of vision by moving close
in—the subject of the photos then comes into view.
